The New South Wales Labour Conference.
At the recent Labour Conference in New .South Walea.the queationß of the voting of the Parliamentary labour party and eight hours' legislation gave rise to very long discussions. The proposal as at first submitted was that the Parlamentary party should vote solid on all -questions ; but it was finally decided that labour members Ibe given a free hand ia any divisions not affecting labour or other matters of the highest importance. Before a division is taken, excepting on matters of detail, a fiaucua of [the Labour members is to be held, at 'which it will be decided how the vote shall gOj no appeal being allowed against, or departure from, such decision. With reference to the eight hours' system strong objection was xaissd by the country party to fixing a hard and fast line. It was urged that, in masy callings, especially in the country, it would be impossible toearry out the eight houra' system in its entirety; and it is understood that matters will be.so arranged ss to meet the difficulty.
