CORRESPONDENCE.

, The following letter appeared in this morning's Ly't telton Times:— Shearers' Electoral Eights. TO THTS EDITOB. Sib,— Now that shearers are placed upon the same footing as seamen and commercial travellers as regards electoral rights, I would like to point out. one thing in connection therewith which is not generally, known. Many interested pimply think that so long as they are registered , for some constituency or other they have done all that is required, and upon election | day may visit the nearest polling booth i and have their votes sent along upon ! | deolaring that they are electors of [an electorate for which they wish, j [ their votes recorded. However, something I more muat be observed. It is .necessary that each shearer should visit the Regis- | tear for Electors in the district for whioh Ihe may be registered, and obtain a shearer's right certificate. This certificate | must be carried by fcke shearer when up country, ; and when the , writs are out a shearer will have about three weeks in which to visit a Post Office and there produce his electoral right certificate. After | signing ' an affidavit declaring that he is ! the person mentioned, his vote will be i forwarded to the district for which he is | registered. Trusting that shearers will I see to the obtaining of elestoral rights certificates. — I am, &o.', J. O'BRIEN.
