Canterbury Land Board.
An ordinary meeting of the Canterbury Land Board, was held ou Thursday) present— Messrs J. W. A. Marohant (Chief Commissioner), D. M'Millan, A. C. Pringle and R. Meredith. Lots 2 and 3, reserve 1238, Block VII., Leeston Burvey district, 48a lr 37p, were granted to Edith Dale ; and Lot 13, reserve 1769, Blocks IV. and VIIL, Ashburton survey district, 10 acres, wrs granted to W. J. Thomas, both under village homeßtead perpetual lease. Several applications for freehold title and transfers of leases were dealt with. The Crown Lands rangers' reports ware dealt with, and instructions given to take action where necessary. The proposals o£ the Waipara Boad Beard with regard to tha expenditure of "thirds" were approved. It' was decided to request the Ashburton County Council and the Rattgitata Road Board to come t) an understanding about; the expenditure of " thirds," or to submit proposals that would suit the Wishes of the settlers. After dealing with routine business the meeting terminated. '•
