The New Hebrides Hurricane. — Details of the fearful hurricane that swept the New Hebrides early in March, show that the ruin was widespread and complete> and that terrible destitution must be experienced for some considerable time to come. Knights op Labour.— The Eawhiti Assembly held its weekly session in the Druids' Hall on Wednesday evening, the Master Workman presiding. Several replies were received in answer to the various communications sent out by the Assembly to other labour assemblies and bodies. The unemployed question was then discussed, and various suggestions weremade and referred to the Committee appointed for that purpose. The meeting waß closed by the Master Workman. Cambridge Football Club. — A meeting of the Cambridge Football Club was held last night in the Shades Hotel, at which there was a good attendance of members. It was decided to disband the Club, as there was not a sufficient number of members to carry on. General regret was expressed by the members that they were obliged to take this Btep, and several stated that they would endeavour to start another club and enter a team for the President's Cup. Hearty votes of thankß were passed to all who had worked for the old Club. Mutual Improvement. — The opening meeting of the North Belt Literary Society was held on Tuesday night, when the report of the Syllabus Committee was adopted, and other businees dealt with. The meeting decided that the lecture by Professor Bicker ton on Tuesday, April 11, Bhould be held in the Merivale schoolroom. The members of the Literary Society in connection with the Young Men's Christian Association have a good syllabus prepared for the coming session, and will open proceedings with a " social" on Monday. The programme is a good one, and a large attendance is expected.
