A meeting of the Committee of the Lyttelton Sowing Cltib was held on Monday evening at Lyttelton, to consider the action of the Christchurch Eegatta Club Committee in reference to the* late Champion Fours at Kaiapoi, when the following resolutions = were adopted in connection therewith:— ,' '•'■-• That in reference to the decision arrived at by the Christchurch Eegatta Club Committee by four votes to three/ to invoke the aid of the New Zealand! Amateur Bowing Association with a view to withholding the championship honours attained by the Lyttelton Rowing Club, as winners "of the Champion Poiira ati Eaiapoi, on Feb. 18, in consequence of an alleged angle at the starting poet, the Lyttelton Club protests, and formulate? the following objections for remittance to the New Zealand Amateur Rowing Association, in connection with such decision of the Chriatchurch Eegatta Club Committee :■— ' 1. That the Hon Seoretary of the Christ-' church Eegatta Club, as the representative of its Committee^ went over the course on the morning of the race Feb. 18) and approved of the said course. . 2. That the Ch^istchu^q'h Eegatta Club Committee, by • redbWtilbn,' iinanimbußly approved of ;theHon Secretary's aciion,«s set forth in the above. " ... < ■ ■■■ 3. That the Lyfcfceltdn Eowing Club's crew waß ordered by: the i starter to. start, and they did- start at the point marking the beginning of the race, and onisa completion was placed first paist the post by the jadge. ■ ... 4. That in conformity with the above, the Cbriatchurch Eegatta Club has ndtified the New; Zealand Amatenr Eowing Association that the Lyttelton- Sowing Club's crew were the : winners of the Champion Pours, and are therefore entitled to the honours attached thereto. : > 5. That no protest was lodged, or has been lodged, by any competitor in the race, with the starter, referee, or the Committee against the start or the line forming the starting point. : 6. That the Ohristchurch Eegatta Club Committee at a full meeting unanimously passed payment of the prize money attached to the race, and that the Lyttelton Sowing Club have' been paid such prize money withont reservation. 7. That if the New Zealand Amateur Eowing Association think it necessary, in face of the foregoing, to arrive at a conclusion whereby the championship hononrs attached to the race should be jeopardised as far as the Lyttelton Sowing Club is concerned, the said Association be respectfully approached with a view to having the race rowed over again to determine finally where the championship honours should rest; and that this Club's representatives are prepared to accept and row over any course the Association may determine ; and if such course is located in Canterbury the Lyttelton Eowing Club offers to pay the expenses attending the visit of. any of the original crews from Wellington.. ■■.
