CHRISTCHURCH. This Dat. (Before W. J. Neate, Esq.) Drunkenness. — William Smith was fined 10s and Is Gd cab hire, in default forty-eight'hours' imprisonment. (Before E. Beetham, Esq., E.M., E. Westenra and H. J. Hall, Esqs.) Civil. Cases.*— Judgment waa given for plaintiffs,, by default, with costs, in the following cases:— H. E. Eowe ?.• (5. W. Ireland, claim £18 6s, J Mr M'Connel for plaintiff ; W. Hazelhutst v. W. Fox, £5 12s Bdj T. Taylor v. K. Buchanan, 18s Id; C. Klingenstein v. E. M'Cree, 13s 9d. Mr Byrne for plaintiff.— F. C. Eaphael v. W. Harper, claim J£7 16a, judgment summons. The ease was adjourned till May 2 to enable the judgment debtor to pay off the debt at the rate cf £1 a week. — Izardand Loughnan v. Barker and Sons, claim £12 on a dishonoured promissory note. Mr Stringer appeared for Thomas William and Robert Henry Barker. The senior partner in the firm, J. B. Barker, did not appear. It wis proved that the senior partner in the firm signed the bill, and judgment was given for Thomas William and Eoberfc Henry Barker and against J. B. Barker.— James Glanville v. Thomas Armstrong, claim £2 for work done. Mr Flesher for plaintiff ; Mr Stringed for defendant. Plaintiff said he prepared a plan for alterations to defendant's shop. No price was agreed upon, and defendant had not paid the money. Defendant said he agreed to pay 10a for the work. He paid plaintiff the money directly he completed the plan. Defendant's eon and William Brown said they saw defendant pay plaintiff half a sovereign in his (defendant's) shop. Judgment wad given for' plaintiff for JBI.—M. Hogan v. Allan Hopkins, claim J823 3s 3d. Mr Slater for plaintiff, Mr Eippenberger for defendant, who paid £13 18a 3d into Court. Judgment was given for. plaintiff for the amount paid into Court.

LTTTBLTON. This Day. (Before S. E.Webb and T. Dyer, Esqs.) Throwing a Missilb.— H. C. Gardner, John Foreman and James Northy, three youths, were charged with throwing a missile, to the. danger of passers-by, in London street. They pleaded "Not guilty." J. H. Davis and T. Alexander deposed that on Sunday evening they were standing ; talking in London street when an apple was thrown by one of the defendants. No notice' was taken of this, but shortly afterwards another was thrown, which hit Alexander on the neck. The witnesses then went acrosß the street and remonstrated with defendants, and while they were speaking Constable Fitzgerald came up and was informed of what had taken place. Constable Fitzgerald said that the witnesses Davis and Alexander had accused the: prisoners of having
