Accidents and Fatalities.
[Pbb Bbbsb Association] AUCKLAND, Feb. 27. In the collision between the Alameda and the sohooner Queen, the schooner's bowsprit waa. carried away wifch part of the stern, and the windlass waß broken. The Alameda was at once stopped, aud assistance offered, bnt aa the schooner was not too_ seriously damaged to make port, the mail steamer resumed her voyage, tbe Queen afterwards coming into the harbour. The body of a man named Charles Pye', a farmer living at Fakuranga, was .found on the road between Fanmnre and Howick. Death was caused by /heart disease. WELLINGTON, Feb. 27.
The bodies of Osborne and Burteau have not yet been recovered, and as a Btrong 'Current from the Hutt river runs about where the accident occurred, jt is likely that the bodies havo been carried out to sea.
A man named James Leonard, died suddenly in tbe Victoria Hotel. He had been ill, but had apparently recovered.
