Merivale Football Club.

The tenth annual general meeting of the Merivale Football Club was held yesterday evening. There was an attendance of thirty members, and the Captain (Mr F. T. Evans) occupied the chair.

The Secretary (Mr W. G. Garrard) read the annual report, which stated that the Club had developed "in-and-out" form in its various games last season, which had resulted in its not occupying so high a position as in previous yean. The first fifteen played fourteen matches, winning eight, losing five and drawing one, making a total of 147 points against 82. The first fifteen played matches against the Poneke (Wellington), Masterton, and Albambra (Dunedin) all of which 'were lost. The Second Fifteen secured fourth position in the contest for the Junior Flag, scoring 112 points to 94 points. The Third Fifteen scored 97 points against 68 points. The total scores for the season were as follow :— Matches played, 34 j won, 18 ; lost, 15 j drawn, 1. The Club, scored 44 goals, 72 tries, 356 points, against 34 goals, 42 tries, 244 points. Messrs Garrard, Evans, Matheson, Lang, White, Johnstone, Hatkinß and Childs represented the Club in interprovincial matches, and the captain of the First Fifteen was selected as captain of the Canterbury team which toured the North Island last season. At the Canterbury Rugby Union's annual sports, the Club was. very successful. The President's Cup team was victorious in the seven a-side tournament, the senior and junior teams acted as runners- up in their respective contests, and Mr P. Mason won the footballers'' handicap. There were 109 members on the roll. The thanks of the Club were due to Drs Jenningß and Hacon for attending accidents which occurred to members on the field of play. The Committee recommended the Club to obtain suitable | training rooms for the members during the ensuing season. . The balance-sheet showed the receipts to have amounted to £120 7s 3d, and the expenditure to £100 5s lid, leaving a credit balance of £20 Is 4d. The assets amounted to £21 2s, and there were no liabilities. On the motion of Mr A. White, seconded by Mr J. Eraser, the reportand the balanceBheet were unanimously adopted. The election of officers resulted aB follows :— President, Mr A. E. G. Rhodes (reelected); Vice-Presidents, Messrs R.. H. Rhodes, I. Gibbs, W. Peters, W. Homer, J.
