The Recent Storm.
[Peb Press Association. I , HAWERA, Feb. 27, ' Further advice from Opunake states that the Opunake end of the Wainau bridge collapsed, owing to the concrete pier having been undermined by the flood water. The main span is severely twisted/ but may be need when repairs are effected. It is reported, that the only bridges standing on the Eltham road are the Ouri and Tangatara, and that Cox'a dairy factory has been severely damaged. In the Opunake township only one or two houses escaped a thorough flooding. Messrs Newman Bros.' store suffered most, a quantity of sugar and flour being destroyed. .•'.,_
