DiBObbtikq an Obdbb.— Thomas Dobson and John Dobßon were charged with having failed to comply with an order of the Court, made on Jan. 10. for the payment of 2s 6d «ach towards the maintenance of their father. Both pleaded inability to pay, their wages being 8b and 6a a week respectively. The father pointed ont that Thomas was capable of earning higher wages. The Resident Magistrate said it appeared to him that the defendants had made up their minds not to pay. He would have no nonsense, however, and although he was reluctant to send young men to gaol, he would commit them if they did ; not pay. He would give them an hour to decide what they would do. On being again called, the defendants agreed to pay up, but applied for a rednotion in the weekly amount. The Sesident Magistrate said before considering the matter he would see the defendants' employer. . Slattghtkehousb License.— A. renewal was granted to G. P. Pulley, Loburn. CnriLCABB3.— W. J.Crothers v. G. White, claim £5 2b sd. . Judgment summons. Defendant Btated that since judgment waa given in March, 1892, he bad not been in a position to pay. He had ten children, and the eldest was but eleven years of age. The Eeeident Magistrate": '** If you go on at that, ,r ate there is certainly not much chance of your paying anyone." After plaintiff had put several questions, an order 1 , was made' for the payment of £1 a month. .
