Cask Dismissed.— Arthur Alexander Hood was charged with using obscene language in Madras street on Feb. 26. AccuHed denied the charge. *C. Duggan said the accused came into the vestibule at the Temple of Truth while the service waa being held on Sunday morning. He made use of some very bad language when the congregation was coming out of the Temple, and wanted to fight one of the members. Witness could not remember the words the accused used as he wanted to get him out of the Temple before the congregation came out. The Bench said there was no evidence to show what kind of language accused used, ■ and the caae would be dismissed. Alleged Labgent from a Till. — Thomas Griffin was» charged with stealing 15s from a till belonging to J. W. Cleary, in, Gloucester street, on Feb. 27. Accused pleaded "Not guilty." Inspector Broham applied for a remand to enable thepolice to make further enquiries. The Bench remanded accused till Friday next. (Before E. Beetham, Esq., R.M.) Civil Cabbs.—T. J. Watters v. W. H. Smith claim £2 13s 6d. Judgment was given for plaintiff by default.— H. Skinner v. J. Heslop, claim £1 14a for repairs to a boot. 1 Defendant said the repairing was very badly done and he could not wear the boot.- Judgment was given' for plaintiff witfc costs 6b.— T.' Wilson v. Collie Bros, claim £55 5b for two stacks of hay, comprising forty tons, which plaintiff alleged were bought by defendants. Mr Meares appeared for plaintiff, and Mr Fisher for defendant, who stated that he bought one stack of hay of fourteen tons for J829 7s 2d. Defendant agreed to take the remainder of the hay subject to his approval, but bb it was unsuitable he did not take it. Plaintiff was nonsuited.
