Meeting of the Executive Committee.

A meeting of the Executive Committee of the Belief Fund waa held this morning, the Mayor in the chair. Lieutenant E. Smith handed in £8 16b Id' collected by the members of the Fire Brigade at the bands performance in Latimer equate. Mr E. S. Harley reported that Messrs Black, Beattie and Co. had sent a parcel of: clothing; value .£3.88, which would be forwarded to Queensland by Thursday's steamer, and that he had made arrangementa for shipping fifty tons of produce by the same boat. . The Master. Bakers' Association notified | that it had forwarded a second instalment | of flour, which had been sent through the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company. ■ ' Messrs Harley and W. E. Mitchell were i appointed a Sub-Committee to expend .£3OO of the fund in the purchase of produce for shipment to Queensland per s.s. Wakatipu. This is the first instalment sent by the Committee from its funds. It was decided to charge sixpence for adults and threepence for children for admission to. the demonstration at Lancaster Park on Queensland Thursday, March 9,. and one shilling additional for admission to the grand stand. Mr J. M, Douglass, on behalf of the Friendly Societies, suggested that the Mayors and public bodies should take part in the demonstration on March 9: Mr Charles Foster was elected a member of the Committee.
