WELLINGTON, Fbb. 16. At the Presbyterian General Assembly this morning, a letter was read from the Eev Thomas Spurgeon, replying to. a message sent by the last Assembly in connection with the decease of the Eev C. H. Spurgeon. The report on statistics showed the total contributions for 1892 to bo £37,547, an increase of £5000. The attendance at Presbyterian churches north of the- Waitaki was 20,600. A deputy from the Otago Church addressed the Assembly, conveying the greetings of the southern church, and expressed a hope that the churches would be united as one. The Moderator and Mr Aitken (elder) were appointed deputies to the next meeting of the Otago Synod.
