SYDNEY, Nov. 22. H.M.S. Boyalist sails to-morrow under sealed orders. It is believed that her destination is Samoa. YICTOEIAN POLITICS. MELBOTJBNE, Nov. 22. Mr Gillies announced at a caucus to-day hia intention to stand aside, and suggested that if the Government was defeated the party should elect a leader. The party decided on a progressive policy. j Bail way and other works should be pro- j ceeded with. The labour party has decided to give a solid vote for the Government. j INCOME TAX. j ADELAIDE, Nov. 22. j The proposal of the Government to pro- j vide for the deficiency in the revenue by the increase of the Income tax from 3d to : s£d on ordinary incomes, and from 6d to j 9d on incomes derived from property, has been carried. | — ' I
