The Evicted Tenants,
As to their reinstatement, that ia one thing ; enquiry into their grievances being quite another. It is a tremendous exposure, we believe, which the Commission of Enquiry is preparing for a world which "will be surprised thereby in spite of its thorough preparation for anything gruesome. We gather so much from the behaviour of the landlords and their political friends, who are loudly impugning the impartiality of the Judge. The notorious Smith-Barry is, of course, to the front very much, and so is Lord Clanricarde. whose exposure by Mr Shaw Lefevre some three years ago as a rackrenter of the rackrenters will never be forgotten. But the public of Great Britain will be sure to regard an enquiry into their misdeeds as something very much more profitable and more seemly than a proposal to buy their properties, at their own ridiculous valuations, with public money guaranteed by the bleeding taxpayers.
