Nurse Registration Rules.
• ♦ The following are tbe nurse registration rules adopted by the St John Ambulance Association : — 1. Nurses eligible for registration must be recommended by two duly qualified local practitioners, or, if recent arrivals, must produce testimonials satisfactory to two members of tbe medical staff of the Association. 2. Each nurae shall on application for registration fill up the form provided. 3. Each nurse shall pay a fee of 5s on registration and an annual fee of 2a 6d each year following, due on January Ist. 4. The commencement and ttrmination of each engagement must be immediately reported to the Secretary. 5. Change of residence, illness, or any cause which will prevent the acceptance of an engagement must be immediately reported to the Secretary. 6. On the termination of each engagement the nurse shall inform the Secretary of the name of the medical man attending the case, so that the Secretary may be able to obtain a confidential report from the ; surgeon in charge. i 7. Any complaint of bad nursintr, refusal I or nf gleet of medical orders should be at i once reported in writing to the Secretary. ) 8. Any nurse engaged in an infectious case shall not attend other cases till she obtains the written permission of the Secretary (on the advice of one of the medical staff), but in such case she shall be entitled to charge a higher fee. 9. Any person engaging a nurae through the Directory Bhall pay a fee of 2a 6d. 10. The first failure to comply withjany of the rules will be followed by a written warning; the second, by the removal of the nurae's name from the register. 11. The Association reserves the right to remove tbe name of any nurae from the register for what to them may seem sufficient cause. 12. The name of any nurse may be replaced on the register at the discretion of the Association. A renewal fee of 2s 6d will be charged in these cases in addition to the annual fee of 23 6d. 13. The register shall contain the names and addresses of the nurses thus registered, as well as the fees respectively charged by them, and a space for the entrance of remarks which from time to time the Association may think fit to insert. 14. A list of names of the disengaged nurses, with their epecial qualification, will be furnished monthly to each local medical practitioner.
