Jonathan Eoberts. — The latest information received by the police here of Jonathan Roberts' movements was that somewhere about a year ago he was aeon in Lima, Peru. Previous to that he was recognised by three peraons in London. The polioe have no knowledge of Boberts having had any sort of military training, in New Zealand at all events, and are inclined to be sceptical as to the statement that he has risen to high rank in the Chilian revolutionary army. Oddfellowshif.— The usual fortnightly meeting of the Loyal Nil Desperandum Lodge, East Oxford, was held on Saturday. There was a fair attendance. Bro Edwin Thorn presided, <i.M. Bro G. Smith and V.G. Bro Baxter also being present. P.S. Bro Morris, who had attended the district meeting as delegate, waa present, and RAve n brief report of the proceedings. The report which appeared in the Star waa read. The Lodge regretted that the rules had been altered in accordance with notices of motion from the Loyal Eangiora and Waikari Lodges. The Lodge deprecated the formation of an A.M.C. and Board of Directors as likely to result in doing more harm than good, owing to the number of, aB yet, inexperienced men who would eomo to the front. P.O. Bro Lough, reported that four members were on the nick list. Bro Fielder, who recently met with an accident in the bueh, wai said to bo progressing favourably, and it waj reported that Bro Cross had been able to resume work. Sick pay amounting to ,£3 waa passed for payment. The receipts were £l Gs 2d.
