St Albana Cricket Club.
ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING.
The annual general meeting of this Club was held laat night at the Knightstown Public Library, under the Chairmanship of the Mayor of St Albans, Mr W. J. Neate. There was a large attendance of members. Mr J. D. Colville, the Hon Secretary and Treasurer, read the report and balance-sheet of laßt season's work. The report showed that the Club had reasons for congratulation, both from a cricketing and from a financial point of view. The balance-sheet showed the past season's receipts to be £30 3s 9d, with the expenditure J825 83 3d, leaving a balance in hand of JS4 15s 6d, and assets .£lB.
After the adoption of the report and balance - sheet bad beeu carried with applause, nine new members were, proposed and elected. * v-<
The Chairman presented Mr T. Moor with a bat for his average as best batsman in the President's Cup team.
The election of officers resulted aa follows :— Patron, the Bishop of Christ* church ; President, Mr W. J. Neate ; Vice • Presidents, Messrs G. G. Stead, E. W. Humphreys, George Kelly, George Capper, A. E. G. Rhodes, E. H. Ehodes, J. Mann, George Dickenson and the Hon J. T. Peacock; Captain, Mr C. Colville; Vice-Captain, Mr E. Smith; Hon Sec, Mr H. Lawrence ; Hon Treasurer, Mr J. D. Colville ; Committee, Messrs C. Harris, A. Hasell, J. Gibbons, A. Allsopp and T. Moor; Selection Committee, Messrs A. Hasell, B. Smith and T. Moor ; Auditors, Messrs W. Hathaway and J. Gibbons.
Mr C. Colville pointed out that the present subscription was inadequate, and moved that it should be raised to 103 for members over eighteen years of age, and 5a under that age. Mr T. Moor seconded the motion, which was carried unanimously.
Sept. 26 was fixed for the opening day, and after Mr C. Colville had suggested that the teams should pay more attention to theClubcoloursduringtheincomingseason, hearty votes of thanks to the retiring officers and the Chairman closed a very successful meeting. '
