«. [Pee Press Association.] INVERCARGILL, June 2. The banquet to Messrs Seddon and Ward was attended by one hundred and forty citizens, and settlers from all parts of the district. The Minister's speech was received with the utmost enthusiasm, his assertions of the absolute necessity for changes in the Invercargill Land Office meeting with marked favoar. When the Mayor read a telegram announcing that Mr J. M'Kenzie's meeting was a great Bucces3 there was a perfect storm of applause. The gathering rose and gave three cheers for the Ministry. Mr Seddon left shortly after midnight for Dunedin, and, as the train moved away from the station, hearty cheers were given.
