FATAL ACCIDENT.
• Mr William McLennan. About eight o'clock this morning the body of Mr William McLennan, a wellknown farmer at Halkett, was found lying dead on the road opposite Mr Gibson's property on the Halkett road. Mr McLennan waa at the Addington market yesterday, and left town in his trap last evening. Mr Hill drove with him as far as the junction of the Halkett road with the Weßt Coast road, and Mr McLennan muafc have continued his journey for about another mile, when probably some uneveness in the road overturned the vehicle. Mr McLennan'B neck was broken, and death muet have been instantaneous. The horse and trap were close to the body, which must have lain all night where it was found this morning as stated. Mr McLennan was muoh respected in the district, and leaves a widow in a delicate state of health. The body has been taken to the late residence of the deceased.
