DUNEDIN, Jan. 5.
The annual report of the Benevolent Trustees shows tbat during the year 3397 persons were relieved, being an increase of twenty-five on the previous year. The casual cases were largely in excess, while the permanent caseß show a decrease of seventy. The weekly average at the inetitution was .210, the charge being at the rate of fis ld per head per week. The amonnt disbursed on outdoor relief was JG6417, a decrease of J8325 on tbe previous year. The total amount expended on the institution and on outdoor relief shows a reduction of over .£SOO.
