The Bevenue returns for the nine months ending Dec. 31 are satisfactory, but the exaot amounts will not be known nntil all accounts are in. Exce-ot at the
end of the financial year it is not usual to telegraph them to Wellington, and only the money actually received by Dec. 31 is taken into account. It has, however, been ascertained that the etrike has not had the deleterious effect that was expected.
