The monthly meeting of the Committee took place in the City Council Library yesterday afternoon at 3.15 ; present — Mr S. Manning in the chair, Mesdames Julius, Nashelski, Kinsey, Gibbs, Izard, Louießon and Hacon, Misses Pheney and Steele, Messrs E. Smith and S. D. Barker (Hon Secretary). Apologies were received from Mesdames Peacock and Manning and Captain Garsia. A letter was received from the Governor's Secretary, Btating that His Excellency would try to be present in Christchurch to present the certificates at the annual meeting, which will probably take place in January. The ambulance carriage fund, amounting to £19 9s 6d, was directed to be placed in the Government Savings Bank. The credit balance reported was at .£B3 Is 9d, and accounts were passed for payment amounting to .£SB 11s 4d. The meeting then adjourned.
