IMPERIAL POLITICS.
[Special to Press Association.] LONDON, Dbc. 15. The Marqaia of Hartington will introduce a deputation, consisting of the Agents-General for the various Colonies, to Lord Salisbury early in January. The deputation will ask Lord Salisbury to urge upon the Government the desirableness of granting a subsidy for the carriage of mails between Vancouver Island and Australia. The principal financial houses in London interested in Queensland stocks have assured Mr Harold Hatton that the separation of the northern portion of Queensland will not in any way injure bondholders, the Northern District undertaking to pay a fair share of the debt.
