Mr Parnell's Dublin Committee in a manifesto urge resistance to the < declaration of the Bishops and Mr ! : Gladstone. j TBoceived Dec. IC, at 11 a.m.! | ■ Mr Justin M'Carthy presided over \ the meeting of the seceders at which , the resolutions were ratified, and Sir T. Esmonde and Mr Deaßy were appointed whips. The Committee of Management includes Messrs Dillon, flealy, Sexton and O'Brien. At a meeting of Farnellites in Dublin the Mayor presided. Mr Healy was burned in effigy. The delegates, except Mr Harring- ; ton, have returned from New York, ; and will probably proceed to Paris to confer. The writ has been issued for North ! Kilkenny. Mr J. Pope Hennessy j will be opposed if he adheres to Mr i Parnell. i It is asserted that there are a ■ hundred candidates prepared to replace the seceders. j Mr Parnell, in reply to an appeal from them, will meet Messrs Dillon and O'Brien in Paris. In the House of Commons Mr M'Carthy gave notice of a motion connected with Messrs Dillon and O'Brien's sentence. Mr Parnell and Mr M'Carthy shook hands in the lobby of the House of Commons. i l j SYDNEY, Dec. 9. j At a meeting of the Newcastle branch j of the National League, the proceedings j were of a stormy nature. A motion that Mr Parnell should be requested to retire from the leadership of the Irish Parliamentary party was negatived in favour of an amendment that the League should await further details. WELLINGTON, Dec. 10. The Bon P. Buckley has received the j following cable from Sir T. Esmonde, who | wa9 one of the Home Rule delegates who recently visited the Colony : — Cause saved. Party relies on New Zealand and stands firm. Justin M'Carthy Chairman, Deasy and Esmonde whips."
