It appeals that they were returning from a visit to Mrs Skey, the Bister of the yonng lady, who resides at Woodhaugh, and took a near cut by the footpath leading from Anderson's mill through the town belt to Maori Hill. When they reached the top of the hill they rested for a moment after their steep climb, andhappening to lean against a wire whioh was stretched across a gap where the rait of the fence was broken away, the wire broke and they fell over a steep face about forty feet high. Mrs Taylor, wife of Mr Taylor, acting Town Clerk, heard the cries of Miss Bosb as she fell, and at once gave the alarm. Constable Burnett was soon on the spot, and found both the victims of the unfortunate accident, who were so seriously hurt as to be unconscious. The sufferers were taken to Dr Coughtrey's residence, and he found that both were suffering from ccncussion of the spine,. Miss Boss having her face badly lacerated in addition.
