A large number of the passengers were landed in their night-clothes, and the surrounding water was literally swarming with sharks. The firemen belonging to the steamer behaved badly after the accident, and several of them, who were Buspected of stealing money belonging to the passengers, were taken before the Court at Fort Said, and sentenced to terms of imprisonment.
