Mahoney v. the Queen.

o [Pbb Press Association.} WELLINGTON, Nov. 25. Shortly after six o'clock this evening, tho Special Jury, in the case Mahoney v. the Queen, returned a verdict for the plaintiff of .2495. This was an action brought by Daniel Mahoney against the Government for the recovery of J. 825 as commission, at the rata of 2£ per cent, on the estimated cost of erecting the new prison and police station at Dunedin. The case is reserved for further argument on the finding of the Jury in-the second count that there was no expressed contract but only an implied one. Mr BelLJortheCrown, will move that on this finding judgment bo entered up for the*defendants.
