[Ter Pbkss Association.] DUNEDIN, Mat 22. A meeting is shortly to beheld to receive the report on the sweating system, by the Committee appointed afc a public meeting. The Committee, up till a few days ago, had every reason to believe that a satisfactory agreement would have been arrived at, but at the last moment were disappointed. They now consider that the solution lies in arousing the public conscience. The investigations of the Committee have led to a great increase in prices. Indeed, in one case the prices now paid far exceed anything that might be expected; but all efforts to arrange a tariff have failed, and the Committee felt that as soon ns public attention ceased to be directed to the j matter, affairs would revert to the former i condition.
