OXFORD.
The annual parish meeting was held on Friday evening at St. Andrew's Church, East Oxford. There was a much larger attendance than for many previons years. The Chairman, the Rev H. Williams, read a statement of the services held in the different parts of the district, regretting that there was no Sunday school at View Hill, and thanking those who had assisted in other places. The statement of accounts showed receipts J2232 18a, and expenditure .£260 13s. The liabilities had been reduced from J834 15s 6d to .£53 10s Bd. A bonus of £5 5s was voted to Miss Parish for playing the harmonium. It was resolved — "That the envelope system be adopted." A subscription list was opened to pay off the deficit, and .£ll 6s was promised. Mr Nalder was elected people's warden and Mr Meyer as curate's warden; Dr Weld, Messrs Mitchell, Comyns, Davies, Keats, Woodward, and H. Steffens vestrymen. For Carleton, Messrs Englebrecht, Skurr and Dohrman ; at View Hill, Messrs Harle, Mounsey and Duder ; at the side school, Meßsrs Youngman, Fryer and Frampton. Votes of thanks terminated the proceedings.
