. ■ ♦ Lorraine and Eavenswing were the first pair out this morning, and made one circuit of the new plough at nearly top. St Clair and British Lion followed with similar work, and Parvula and Golden Crest galloped a mile and a quarter at a smart pace. Maligner and Chudleigh first cantered and then covered five fur- | longs fast, and Dudu . and Strenuous were sent a mile and three furlongs at good half- speed. Escapade finished a mile and a half fast, and Half Guinea went twice round steadily. Adulation was Bent the Oaks distance at top, having the assistance of Mosb Bose in the last half of the journey. Flatter and Cypriote cantered twice round the old plough, winding up with a fast four furlongs, and Leopold appeared better than Cuirassier at I the end of a Btrong mile and a half. Merrie England and the Charity colt went ' four, furlongs at top, and then cantered, and Repose traversed two miles and a half at a steady pace. Eewi and Mikado cantered to the six-furlong post and came home fast, and Vandal went the Cup distance at nearly top. Dunkeld and Helmsman went once round at half -pace, finishing fast, and then cantered a mile, and Fair Nell covered two miles at half-speed. Exchange and Son-of-a-Gon galloped round the old plough at a strong pace, and Chain Shot and Engagement negotiated two miles and a half steadily. Wairuna and Baven went twice round at threequarter speed, and Cornnna had all the best of a fast five furlongs with Blizzard. Irish King was sent twice round the old
plough at a good useful pace, and Sultan galloped a mile and a quarter. Idalia covered seven furlongs fast, and Sykes and i Bosebud made the same journey at top. Premier and Erin-go-Bragh were extended at the end of a mile and a half, and Presto and Mammoc, the former taking the hurdles, each went about two miles and a half steadily.
