Independent and VolleyFiring. The Richmond Rifles went through'their volley and independent fixing early this morning, at the Bromley range, under the supervision of Major Newall. In the absence of Captain Bowron, on leave, Captain Calvert* of the Heatheote Rifle 3, took command of the Company. The muster was the • strongest yet seen among the Companies which have completed their firing, forty-seven noncommisioned officers and men being present. They passed the night in the tents pitched at the range. The fignre of merit < obtained in the firing was 21-31. on Tuesday next, and most of the South { Canterbury Corps will do their firing j during the carnival week.
