Mr StanselTs record of the rainfall at Christchurch shows that in the twentyfour hours ending 9 a.m to-day l«47in fell. The wind was South-east. The greater part of this rain fell after seven last night, at times coming down like a waterspout. It has rained on seven days this month, on six days from South-west. The total rainfall this month has been 3'ssin.
