ZULULAND.
[Special to Pkess A_*sociATio2i.] DUX-BAN, AtratJßT 8. It is reported that Dinizuiu and Undebuto have taken refuge in tho Ceza, bush country. A.v immediato effort will he made to dislodge them. The Natal Times gives the following account of the engagement on June 2 : — " The troops started before daybreak oa the morning of June 1 for Ceza Bush, Dinizulu's hiding place, about thirty-fivo mile from 'Nkonjem. The forco consisted of two troops of Dragoons, two companios of Mounted J_nfantry,about twenty mounted police, and about thirty foot police. These arrived within about fifteen miles of i their destination that day, and rested until a little before daybreak tha next morning, when they were again marched forward. The troops got to the bush, whicb is situated on a large hill surrounded [ on tbe slopo with rocks, about 9 a.m. The : mounted police, under Major Mansel, ad- i vanced to within seventy yards of the bush, and were supported by the Mounted Companies of the 64th and 27th Regiments. About a hundred of D_m_-ulu*_- people stood on tho border of the bueh, and one of thorn was about to throw au assegai when i he was shot dead. The Usutus immediately j fired a volley at the forces, and two of the police were wounded. The men j then dismounted, and taking cover behind the rocks maintained their position for about half an hour* during which the enemy kept up a continuous fire- from every direction. A force of about one hundred cama-out of the bush, about this time, andthe * retire *"W_ia sounded. The ; men were running to get their horses., when Private. Clark fell, shot through his right side. He wag put on a horse and taken to the ambulance waggon. When the troops retired to the second position, the enemy followed and took u*p the ground previously occupied by tho military. Wnen the troops again, retired to tbe third position, the Zulus came towithia seventy yards of them on a bit of level ground. Then the Dragoons charged., but only killed five or six of them, owing to their retreating on to the broken ground. By thia time about 1000 Zulus had emerged from the wood, and thoir firing billed one of the police and wounded two soldiers. By the time the tioop3 bad retreated ia mile, the enemy numbered about ISOO, in companies, and about 500 mounted and on foot in skirmishing order. The mounted men numbered about 100. The • Dragoons kept on covering tba retreat for i about twenty miles, antl dv _i__jj that time ! had ono man shot dead, the bullet outeraig \ the back of hia neck. After a fight of i about six hours, the enemy retreated to .' the wood, and the troops went back to 'Nkonjeni. '
