Thursday, Mat 17. The Speaker took the chair at 2.30 p.m. THE LOAN BILL. The ATTOBNBY-aKNBBAii gave notice that to-morrow he would move the suspension of the Standing Orders, in order that the Loan Bill might be passed through all its stages on the same day, as it might be sent by the outgoing San Francisco mail. GISBOBNR HARBOUR. The Hon G. R. Johnson asked tho Government whether they had received Mr Higginßon's report on the Gisborne harbour works, and if so whether they would lay a copy thereof on the table of the Council, together with a statement of the financial position of the Harbour Board, showing the amount already spent, what amount was pledged by contracts, and what portion of tho loan remains unspent. The Hon E. C. J. Stevens intimated that the report would be presented as soon as printed, . ADDBESS-INrREPLY. The Speaker intimated that His Excellency'the Governor would receive the Addresß-in-Eeply at 2,45 on Friday. The Council rose at 2.55 p.m.
