Speaking in the House of Commons on the Subject oO the recent riots in London, Mr Gladstone said the Government should decide promptly as to the right of the public to hold meetings ill Trafalgar Square. He Mmselli wag strongly in. favour of the meetings being -allowed. The Right Hou John Mori ey, referring to the decrease of crime in Ireland, mentioned in the Queen's Speech, attributed the diminution tc the alliance of the Irish .Liberal parties, and not to the action of the 1 Government. In the House of Commons the debate on the Address.in- Reply is proceedicg quietly, and without anj : disorder.
