CRICKET.

Auckland Anticipations. [Speciat. to thb " Stab."] AUCKLAND, Oct. 26. This season promises to be very popular in Auckland. Our local players have been paying close attention to practice, and should be able to put a very fine team in the field to cope with the English teams. It is expected that both the English teams that are to visit Uve Colonies thia year will come to Auckland, although only Lillywhite's team ia under negotiations as yet. Shaw's team is very likely to come here too, however, for Shaw himself has been in Auckland several times, and will make efforts to revisit it. Then there is a atrong probability of an Australian team coming over to New Zealand thia season, in which case Auckland would be sure to receive a visit.
