A brave feat was performed at Kingstown on "Wednesday evening by a constable named Ewbank, who, having seen a man fling himself into gfche sea off the pier, i instantly threw off his coat and boots, tied a rope round his waist, and swam out tit the rescue. At about eighty yards from the shore he came up to the intending suicide,' who turned on Ewbank, and caught him by the throat. A desperate struggle ensued, and both having sank, were given up for lost. They rose, however, after a considerable interval, but the rope had slipped off the constable, and his prisoner made still more frantic efforts to drown both.
