Reception of Dr Grimes.
The arrangements for the reception are^ we understand, making considerable progress. The Pectoral Cross which will be | presented to Dr Grimes — it is the gift of a j member of the congregation — is very j elegant, the design being by Mr Strouts, of ; this city. It Ts an Irish trefoil cross, j with a shamrock and lily entwined and ! embossed, having the crest of the Bishop engraved in the centre. Attached is a gold chain to match. The Throne for the Sanctuary, which is approaching completion, is Gothic in design, and will be covered with red Morocco leather. The appendages, Pris Diou, Faldstool, and stools for crosier and mitre-bearers, all in similar stylo, are also in a forward state. They will, with the episcopal throne, form a handsome addition to the Sanctuary. These are being got ready under the supervision of the Committee of ladies. The Committee of gentlemen has secured a handsome barouche, fitted with reversible hood and self-closing steps, of English make, recently imported. They have ordered suitable harness, and arrangements aro in progress for purchasing a pair of horses.. The Sisteiß of the Barbadoes Streot Convent are busy embroidering several articles for presentation to the Bishop on his arrival, and boarders in their school are drawing up an address and arranging a short dramatic performance for his reception when he visits the \ Convent for the first time.
