Cutting Down a Flock of Sheep.

AUCKLAND, Sept. 14. Isaac Penny and George Caldicut, railway employees, were charged to-day at the Police Court with causing a train to run over a flock of sheep at Onehunga, mutilating several. It was stated that one sheep was killed, the backs of two broken, and several others injured. The Bench said the case was a very gross one, and fined each of the defendants £5 and costs, or fourteen days' imprisonment.
