THE MIDLAND RAILWAY.
[Per Pbess Association.]
GREYMOUTH, July 23. The Grey River Argus this morning points out that Brunnerton can never be made a suitable station for connecting the Midland Railway lino with the Government line, owing to the w ant of room, and recommends that a portion of the line between Brunnerton and the junction should be acquired by tho Government in order to make a main station at the latter place, where there is abundance of flat land for all the requirements of an important railway station.
The Rosamond arrived to-day with 615 casks of cement for the Midland Railwaycontractors. The Mawhera also brings a large lot. The Maori brought the principal portion of three brake-vans for tho Midland Railway contractors. Engines are now running between Brunnerton and the junction, and the ballasting of the line is nearly complete so far.
