First Steel Cast in New Zealand.
TO THE EDITOR OF THE " STAB." j Sir, — 1 see that Messrs Scott Brothers are exhibiting steel castings at the Industrial Conversazione labelled , " first steel castings made in New Zealand." Now, ; Mr Editor, about two years and a half ago I made some steel castings, some of which Mr E. Ford exhibited at the Industrial Conversazione last year. I also made castings for the following firms /in Christchurch : — New Zealand Government, about half a ton, which are in use at the present time; Booth, Macdonald, and Co.; R. i Wilkin and Co. ; J.
