9 I SUDDEN DEATH. I Our Amberley correspondent telegraphed as follows last night : — The residents of Amberley have been startled by the sudden announcement of the death of Mr Hugh M'Lean, the father of Mr Hugh M'Lean, of the Crown Hotel. It seems but yesterday that all were congratulating both parties on their meeting, after a separation of over twenty yeare, the old gentleman having arrived only lately from Boßshire, Scotland, in the Aorangi, very hale, active, and apparently likely to ' enjoy the re-union with his sons, daughters and grandchildren for several years. As all participated in the hearty welcome given him on his arrival, so do all sympathise in his unexpected and lamented death. [Pkb Pbbss Association.] AUCKLAND, Jan. 5.
