Annual Parish Meetings.

BANGIOBA. The annual meeting of parishioners connected with St John the Baptist Church, Bangiora, was held in the schoolroom belonging to the church last evening. There was but a small attendance; the Yen Archdeacon Dudley, Incumbent, in the chair. Mr J. G. Leech, the parishioners' churchwarden, read the statement of accounts for the past year. The stipend account showed receipta JEI9O, being .£lO short of the guaranteed amount. Ordinary expenses fund : Eeceipts, £189 18s 8d 5 expenditure, £205 12s 7d ; debit balance, £15 12s lid. Church school property account : Eeceipts, £45 lis Gd ; disbursements, £52 10s lOd ; debit balance, £7 5s 4d. The statement was commented upon as being on the whole satisfactory. The Chairman drew attention to the deficit ; of £10 in the stipend fund, and expressed his opinion that it ought to be considered 1 as a debt upon the Parish. After some discussion with reference to this, it was agreed to make a special effort 1 to raise the amount as soon as possible. On the motion of Mr Leech, seconded by Mr . Waterston, the financial statement was adopted.

Mr Leech was re-elected parishioners' churchwarden, and Mr C. E. Tribe, minister's churchwarden. The following were elected vestrymen : — Messrs G. Shorland, J. Thompson, M. Amy, H. Jones, and S. Stephens. Hearty votes of thanks were passed to the Superintendent and teachers of the Sunday school, the organist, choir, and to the members of the ladies' working bee, from whose efforts had resulted a contribution of over £20 towards the general expenses fund. A special vote of thanks was also accorded to Mrs Dudley for the substantial assistance she had rendered by the proceeds of a garden party arranged by her, and held in the Parsonage grounds, the money being expended in decorating the interior of the church. The Churchwardens, and Mr Blackett, who had acted as auditor, also received the thanks of the meeting, and the latter gentleman was re-elected auditor. „ l
