Women's Temperance Union.
>*. [Per Prkßb Association.] WELLINGTON, Feb. 25. At a meeting of the Women's Christian Temperance Union Convention to-day, Mrs Clark read a paper on " Woman as a Citizen of the State." It was resolved that the Temperance Herald, the Leader, and the Sentinel should be the organs of the Union, and that Mrs Dudley-Ward should bo the superintendent of organisation, and that Mrs Wright be superintendent of literature. Resolved — " That the Union Strenuously oppose the provisions of the Contagious Diseases Act"; also, by a unanimous vote of the Convention, " That on the meeting of Parliament, this Union 1 requests the Premier to support a Bill ' granting the suffrage to women." The i constitution of the Union was adopted, it , being a modification of that in vogue in similar institutions in England and America.
