On settling down, Trapper was pulled back, and Tomuka took command and showed the way over the first hurdle, with Garibaldi and Borderaan at his heels. In this order they came into the straight, but jumping the hurdle opposite the stand, Garibaldi got on even terms with Temuka ; Kingask and Borderman together a length away, and Master Agnes still whipping in. Temuka again drew out and led Ihb field along the back stretch, but the second hurdle from home brought him down, and Kingask, coming through, Uok command, with Borderman and Garibaldi at his girths. Trappor was then called upon, on d at the last hurdle caught the leaders. Bordorman and Garibaldi here fell back beaten, and Mayboy came up to Kingask and Trapper. A good race then enßued home, resulting in a neck victory for Mayboy, while Trapper beat Kingask by a head for second place, Borderman fourth. Time— ttmin djsec. Dividends, JEll 9s and .£8 11s Gd. A protest was lodged against Mayboy for running round the last hurdle, and, being sustained, Trapper was declared the winner.
