AVONSIDE.
The decorations at the Church of the Holy Trinity, Avonside, were both tasteful and in keeping with the architecture of the building. Particular attention had been paid to the chancel, on the steps of which a low screen of fern leaves and roses formed a novel and beautiful adornment. The string-courses of tho walls were outlined with flowers and green leaves, and the reading-desk and pulpit were similarly decorated. The font, surmounted with a cross of white lilies, and covered with a profusion of the same beautiful flowers mingled with green leaves, also presented a very effective appearance. The services were conducted by the incumbent, the Eev W. A. Pascoe, and commenced with a carol service on Christmas Eve. At 8 a.m. .yesterday a choral celebration of the Holy Communion took place, and at 11 choral matins were held, followed by a second celebration of the Eucharist. The Eev TV. A. Pascoe preached from St Luke ii., 14, " Glory to God in the Ilighest," &c. All the services were largely attended.
