The following New Zealand applications for patents are gazetted : — George Eeed, of Auckland, cabinetmaker, for " A process for renovating billiard cushions." ° Theodore William Hickson, of Auckland, surveyor, for "An automatic multiplex registering machine," capable of being used as a totalisator or for other purposes. Edward Atkinson, of Auckland, for " Patent slating." Job Osborne, of Doyleston, for "The duplex gorse-cutter." Jean Michel Camille Malfroy, of Boss, for " The railway rail patent ripple." Samuel and John Danks, of Wellington, braao founders, for "An invention for securing the efficient working of water meters on all descriptions of hydraulic motors."
