Applications for Patents,
The following New Zealand applications for patents are gazetted; — John Alves, of Dunedin, engineer, for " Improvements in apparatus for conveying material on aerial tramways or endless ropeways." Same, for " Improvements in machinery for concentrating and amalgamating." Charles John Hill and Charles Edward Treherne Hill, of Upper Riccarton, gate and hurdle makers, for " An invention for iperforniing the combined operations of sowing seeds that require to be or are best sowing singly, especially turnip seed, and for pulverising the small clods of earth, and covering the seed, and pressing the earth into close contact with the seed." Job Osborne, of Doyleston, for "An automatic reversing gear to attach to a Boomer press." Charles Gifford, of Oarnaru, civil engineer, ;for " An invention for adapting the albocarbon light to gas burners generally known. as sun-lights." Julius Parker, of Sydenham, for " The infallible -electric totalisator." James 'Gray, of Dunedin, engineer, for " linpjio.vG.ment in flexible tripod harrows."
