Waste Lands Board.
• • At the sitting of the Waste Lands Board this morning, Mr Walter Kitson, acting Chief Commissioner, in the chair, the leases of 65 runs, to expire in 1890, were offered for sale. There was a very small attendance of buyers, and only ten sales were effected. They were as follows : — 2708 acres, Big Ben Range, formerly held by G. Rutherford, repurchased at an annual rental of £16 18s 6d. 11,000 acres, near Lake Coleridge, repurchased by R. M. Cotton, £22 18s 4d. 50C0 acres, Head waters of Rangitata, G. M'Rae; bought by G. M'Millan, £10 8s 4d. 5000 acres, head waters of the Rangitata ; J. R. and W. M. Campbell, by G. M'Millan, for £20 16s Bd. 5000 acres, West of Makarora river: H. P. Murray-Aynsley, by W. G. Stewart, tor £3. 5000 acres west of Hawera river; 5000 acres west of Hawera river ; 5000 acres east of Hawera river; held by F. H. Fraser, by John Henderson, at £4- 10s in each case. 1160 acres, South of Makikihi; H. A. Pitman, by John Reid, for £23 18s 6d, 2582 acres, West Eyreton; Marmaduke Dixon, repurchased for £43 lis sd. The rest of the runs advertised were passed in.
